Almost exactly a year after the killa bees descended on Epic last winter, the Wu-Tang Clan plan a return to Minneapolis on January 7 this year.  It takes brave souls to rap in the dead of winter in this town, but the New York crew is no stranger to snow -- or the warm support of Twin Cities hip-hop fans.

The last time Wu were in our local news was back in June when Doomtree unveiled their "homage project" mashing up the sounds of Wu with Fugazi:

Sleep Rules Everything Around Me by WUGAZI

Last January, Wu's Inspectah Deck told City Pages he was impressed by the dedication of Minneapolis fans, and first announced to our city his plans for a new album. Backstage, Method Man was in "high" spirits and posed for a picture for our photographer. Even ODB's kid showed up, which only partly made up for RZA's absence.

If last year's show is any indication, we're in for a raw performance. Word from the promoter is that RZA, Raekwon, Method Man, GZA, Ghostface Killah, Masta Killa, U-God and Inspectah Deck will all be performing at the show.
