Twin Cities rapper/singer Lizzo performed Thursday night on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and she straight-up crushed it.

Lizzo — backed by hype woman Sophia Eris, Picked to Click finalist Eric Mayson on keys, backup dancers, and others — offered up "Ain't I" from her sophomore album Big Grrrl Small World, which drops today. A hard-edged rap track in the beginning, "Ain't I" tempo-shifts into quaking choruses and a soulful, piano-accented vocal breakdown.

Ahead of that breakdown, the real-life Melissa Jefferson paused mid-song to honor her grandmother. "This performance is dedicated to my grandmother who passed away this week," she told New York City's Ed Sullivan Theater. "I love you so much, Granny. This is a moment! Let's celebrate."

"Ain't I" is all over the place, but the hyper-energized and charismatic Lizzo pulled the parts together Thursday, even showing off serious pipes during the singing portion. It was also a lyrically dense statement to the national TV audience — blue jean skeets, Henry Ford, slavery, crack babies, money, empowerment. "'Ain't I' is the thesis of the album, Sojourner Truth's witness," Lizzo explained to the Fader in October. "All of my blackness and my womanhood crammed into 3 minutes and 56 seconds.

After the song, Lizzo hit Colbert with a massive bear hug, a tradition she started last year with his predecessor Dave Letterman.

At the top of the show, Stephen's old Daily Show pal Jon Stewart popped by to do his impression of fascist GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump, complete with actual Cheeto-dust makeup and a garish wig.

"We will have a performance by hip-hop artist Lizzo," Colbert teased, to which Trump-via-Stewart replied, "Ohh! Hip-hop! A 100 percent. A 100 percent of black rappers support Donald."

Of course they do.
