Ginkgo is one of the undersung venues for down-to-earth, folky music in the Cities, and the appearance of Chuck Suchy tonight is a paragon example of their offerings. Suchy is an active farmer in North Dakota as well as a singer/songwriter, and has been called "one of the great undiscovered treasures of contemporary American folk music."
The show's at 7:30p.m. and tickets are 12 bucks at the door; before you go check out this excellent video of his tune, "Burma Shave Boogie," in which Suchy plays with rhymes taken from Burma Shave roadsigns.
