Minneapolis nightlife patrons between the ages of 18 and 35 really like to dance. In fact, it's a common comment from touring DJs that the Twin Cities club scene really knows how to party, which is exactly what they'll do on the most celebratory of holidays that is New Year's Eve. They'll sing along, they'll spill beer, they'll be grinning and having a good time. Won't you join them? Here your best options for burning up the dancefloor on Friday night.

Bomp NYE! at Nick & Eddie

Lineup: The Moon Goons, Shannon Blowtorch, Mike the 2600 King, Wezz Winship, Kid Vicious, Brian from Hipshakers & special guests
The Crowd: Young, casual and wild.
Details:
10p.m. - 3 a.m., 18+, $5/$10
RSVP: http://www.moongoons.com/BOMP/
Potential playlist: "Yeah" by Boize Noise; "Speakers Going Hammer" by Souja Boy; "Let's Get It On" by Marvin Gaye

"BOMP is always insane, I'm kinda afraid about what it will be like on New Year's Eve," Main Moongoon Jonathan Ackerman tells us.  Dealing with space issues ever since it moved from the spacious and now-closed Bedlam Theater, one exciting thing about this party is that the guys will debut a second warehouse space adjacent to Nick & Eddie (which is not the biggest bar), doubling their potential headcount.  Coat check will also be available.

Lineup: Jimmy 2 Times, Plain Ole Bill, Fundo, Last Word, Soviet Panda, VerbX & more
The crowd: Hip guys and sassy ladies in their mid-20s, lovers of rap and current dance music.

Potential playlist: "Whip It Up (feat Gucci Mane)" by E40, "Ain't Goin' Out Like That" by Yelawolf, "Not In Love" by Crystal Castles feat. Robert Smith

"We're all forming like Voltron for this one to offer everyone a great NYE," Jimmy2Times says. We agree it will be a sight to see this year at First Avenue with so much DJ talent in multiple rooms.

Lineup: Bongore, Tomba, Vaski & more
Details: 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., 18+, $35
The Crowd: Young, friendly, colorful and... pungent
Potential playlist: "Get Down" by Vaski; "Hold On (Sub Focus mix)" by Rusko, "Lassitude" by Fresh & Sigma

We interviewed Vaski, who is local but earning recognition in the global dubstep scene, as he prepped for the show. You can check that out here.  This party, by the way, is going to be LOUD.

Bubbles at Club Jager

Twin Cities best dance night picks for New Year's Eve

Lineup: Dirty Mackenzie (pictured above)
Details: 12-2 a.m., 21+, $5 (low-key lounge party prior)
The crowd: Grown up but still fun 30-something music obsessives who love 80s, new wave, house electro, etc.
Potential playlist: "Metro" by Berlin; "Two Of Hearts" by Stacy Q., "Living On Video" by TransX

"Everyone is going to be pretty lubricated by the time we start, and for DJs that's great because people are ready to get down and dance," says Dirty Mackenzie, who has deejayed in the city to much acclaim since the early 90s. "There's going to be a jazz band playing until 12, so it's going to be perfect when we start because when people are led up to partytime after a mellower period, they usually party pretty hard. I'm guessing there will also be a lot of soul train line dances because that's been happening a lot at Jager."
