Thousands of fun-lovin', cowboy hat-wearin', country music fans descended upon downtown Minneapolis yesterday for the first ever concert at Target Field, for a double-bill featuring Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw dubbed the Brothers of the Sun tour. Weather-wise, you couldn't have asked for a nicer day and night, and based on the pictures, Target Field looked to be as nice a place to see a concert as it is to see a ballgame.
But in this day and age, that is only half of the story. The rest of the experience is best told through social media, and attendees using the #BOTS hashtag on Twitter captured what the concert was like for them in a distinctly 21st Century way. Chesney even got the ball rolling, posting a picture of him donning a Twins batting helmet with the Target Field setup behind him. And from there, a flurry of Tweets rolled in from the 40,000+ fans who packed the ballpark for what is hopefully the first of a long line of successful concerts at the venue. Here are some of the best tweets of the night.
