We spill Exxon Valdez amounts of cyber ink rhapsodizing the career wins of Minneapolis-via-Houston rapper Lizzo, but these laudatory posts aren't without merit. Case in point: The 27-year-old MC is set to perform The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight!

The national TV spot — tune in 10:35 p.m. Thursday on CBS — comes on the eve of the release of Lizzo's Big Grrrl Small World, her sophomore album that's already netting strong reviews (Pitchfork gave it a respectable 7.5 out of 10 score earlier today).

We've already seen a string of teased tracks from Big Grrrl Small World, including the defiant self-respect banger "My Skin," a song that earned an unlikely co-sign from celebrity spiritual guru Deepak Chopra, among many others.

Lizzo made her TV debut
with Colbert's legendary predecessor Dave Letterman in 2014, when she played "Bus Passes and Happy Meals" from her 2013 debut, Lizzobangers. The performance ended with the real-life Melissa Jefferson giving Dave a big ol' hug.

Can we expect similar love for Stephen? Here's hoping because he's just the best, gushes this Strangers With Candy/Venture Bros./Colbert Report fan in obligatory fashion. Lizzo will be joined on Thursday's Late Show by guests Bruce Willis (lovable tough-guy actor, attempted musician) and Michael Lewis (author of Moneyball and The Big Short, attempted revealer of the rigged and broken U.S. economy).

We'll be sure to post video of Lizzo rocking Colbert first-thing tomorrow morning. You can catch her GRRRL PRTY crew opening Mixed Blood Majority's album-release party this Friday at First Avenue.
