The Walker plans two-day Dave King celebration
You know you've made it in the local scene when the biggest art gallery in the Twin Cities plans not one, but two days of celebration in your honor. The Walker Art Center has announced King for Two Days: A Dave King Celebration on March 12 and 13, which will feature performances by six of King's different musical groups.
Friday, March 12, 8 pm
Buffalo Collision, The Bad Plus, Happy Apple, The Bad Apple
Saturday, March 13, 8 pm
Golden Valley Is Now, Dave King Trucking Company
Over the past 14 years, King has established himself as one of the most active, prolific, and talented drummers in the city, and has enjoyed success in several forward-thinking and genre-bending groups. The first evening will feature sets by King's more well-known groups, the Bad Plus and Happy Apple (along with the Bad Apple, a combination of the two), while the second night will host debut performances by two brand new groups.
