The Replacements nominated for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

If you talk to the locals, the Replacements are already hall of fame. The non-locals spoke up, though. Among the Class of 2014 nominations for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame -- alongside Nirvana, KISS, N.W.A., Hall & Oates, and others -- you'll find a recently reformed band that came together on the sketchier streets of Minneapolis more than three decades ago.
We shall find out in December if the Replacements are voted into a rock hall reserved for people like the Beatles, Chuck Berry, the Who, Madonna, and Billie Holiday.
This is not all up to people who know Jimmy Page personally, however. The public has some say in who is inducted in 2014. Vote at RollingStone.com before December 10 to sway the ballots in favor of Paul Westerberg, Tommy Stinson, and whichever configuration you feel is appropriate.
The entire list of nominees this year is:
Nirvana, the Replacements, N.W.A., Chic, Peter Gabriel, Kiss, LL Cool J, the Zombies, Cat Stevens, Hall & Oates, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Deep Purple, Link Wray, the Meters, Linda Rondstadt, and Yes.
The inductees will be announced in December. A ceremony will be held in April 2014 in New York, and aired on HBO in May.
Gimme Noise already voted to put the 'Mats in Cleveland forever. How about the rest of you?
