The Jayhawks planning three-night stand

Anyone who made it out to the Basilica Block Party last summer to catch the Jayhawks reunion show can attest that there was something otherworldly at play when founding members Gary Louris and Mark Olson sang their old songs together again. It had been 14 years since the two frontmen had joined together to play a Minneapolis date as the Jayhawks (Olson left the band in late '95), and fans old and new flooded the church lawn to sing along through rain and tears and dumbstruck smiles as Olson and Louris rejoined with bandmates Marc Perlman, Tim O'Reagan, and Karen Grotberg.
And now, the band is planning to rekindle their old flame once again, as Louris leaked on his Twitter feed yesterday and First Avenue confirmed last night. According to the club, the band is playing three nights in the Mainroom this summer, June 19-21.
