A Taste of Minnesota seems to have found a semi-permanent home. The food and music festival will return July 2-5 to the Carver County Fairground in Waconia this summer.
After flooding doused the fest's chances at Harriet Island last year, Waconia opened up its grounds 40 miles west of the Twin Cities as a backup. Note: It was not one of our recommendations for a new location.
Six Spots to Put Taste of Minnesota in 2015
"We received a very warm welcome in Waconia last year when we were in urgent need of a new home," says Linda Maddox, general manager of A Taste of Minnesota, in a press release. "After carefully evaluating Saint Paul and other venue options for 2015, we decided to return to Waconia."
In 2014, A Taste of Minnesota was set to return after a hiatus of a couple of years. With a music lineup heavy on classic rock and country, the event felt like a departure. Organizers say that the musical direction for this year's Taste will arrive later this spring.
