Storyhill and Romantica headline Concert for Katherine

It's not only a great cause, but a great lineup: Concert for Katherine, a tribute show honoring Katherine Ann Olson, will take place Sunday afternoon at Grace Church in Eden Prairie with performances by folk duo Storyhill, Americana troubadours Romantica, and local theater troupe Teatro del Pueblo. Proceeds from the show will be funneled into a scholarship fund in memory of Olson, who was tragically murdered in 2007 while responding to a false Craigslist ad.

See below for information on the acts slated to perform at Sunday's benefit show, and click here to download a free compilation album sponsored by LP33. Tickets are $25 ($35 for preferred seating) and are available for advance purchase through the end of the day today. The show runs from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 3rd.

Storyhill, featuring Chris Cunningham and the Hopefuls' John Hermanson are known for their exquisite vocal harmonies and sweet folk-pop compositions. Here's a video of the duo performing "Give Up the Ghost" at the 2008 Folk Alliance:

Romantica are one of the Twin Cities' finest Americana bands, and the fact that they have a new album in the works means that their set tomorrow should be chock full of new tunes. Here's a video for "The National Side" off of their critically-acclaimed sophomore album, America.

Ann Reed is a local singer-songwriter who recently completed an album titled Songs for Minnesota. As you may have guessed, each track is its own tribute to our fair state, with titles like "Love at the Fair" and "Northern Star." Click here for an interview with Reed from the Current's Morning Show.
