The good folks at the Square Lake Film & Music Festival have unveiled the lineup for the 11th running of the event. The yearly getaway is at a hobby farm seven miles north of Stillwater near Square Lake Beach, and provides a balanced showcase of local independent film and music from the area.

This year, the music lineup includes Dark Dark Dark performing a film score and live set, as well as music from Greg Grease, Heavy Deeds (above), Crimes, Is/Is, Moors & McCumber, Food Pyramid and Body Omara.

In addition to the musical component for the day, animation and short films will play throughout -- first in a theater during daylight hours, and then on an outdoor screen after dark. The submissions come from local film programs, including MCAD, MCTC, and plenty more.

This year's event takes place on Saturday, August 10, and is a day-long adventure that many attendees reach by bicycle. (It's a 78-mile round trip.) There is free, but limited on-site camping.
