Rhymesayers Entertainment has announced the date for the 2013 running of Soundset, its yearly hip-hop festival.
Now in its sixth year, the gathering has established itself as one of Minnesota's largest showcases of music and culture, and one of the strongest within the hip-hop realm anywhere. We detailed the lead-up to this past year's Soundset in a City Pages cover story (Also: Behind the Soundset cover) back in May.

In addition to host artists Atmosphere, the extensive 2012 lineup featured Lupe Fiasco, Kendrick Lamar, Big K.R.I.T., Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and tons more. The exceedingly hot day also boasted a riotous storm that closed out Fiasco's set, and moved Atmosphere indoors.
Announced on Atmosphere's Facebook page with a call for suggestions for the lineup, we find that the event returns Sunday, May 26, 2013.
Among our many, many suggestions, incidentally, would include: a couple of R&B stars who have huge hip-hop crossover appeal (Miguel and Frank Ocean), as well as the Roots, Death Grips, Shabazz Palaces, Azealia Banks, YN Rich Kids, La Manchita, Greg Grease, the Chalice, Mixed Blood Majority, MasterMind... etc. etc. etc.
Looking forward to festival fatigue in 2013!
