Following the sold-out success of the inaugural Skyline Music Festival last summer, K-TWIN and the Minnesota Twins have just announced the date and lineup for this year's festival. While last year's iteration featured a series of bands (Soul Asylum, Matthew Sweet, Big Head Todd and the Monsters) performing their classic albums from start to finish, the lineup for this summer's Skyline Music Fest is led by multiple Grammy winner, Melissa Etheridge.
In addition to Etheridge, alt-rockers O.A.R. are on the bill. The Rembrandts will also be performing, and will be joined for their set by Ryan Smith and Ron Caron of the Melismatics. Rounding out the lineup are a couple of classic Minnesota bands, Gear Daddies (who also played at last year's Skyline Music Festival) and the Honeydogs.
The unique setup for the Skyline Music Festival is certainly one of its charms, as the stage is located along the third base line, with seating limited to the areas in front of the stage. It provides fans with an intimate glimpse of the performances, with surprisingly great quality sound, all with the stunning backdrop of the Minneapolis skyline in the distance.
Gates for the Skyline Music Festival will open at 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, with music starting at 5 p.m.
