The first two iterations of the Skyline Music Festival have catered to a more mature musical audience with lineups featuring veteran classic-rock leaning acts. But the Minnesota Twins and K-TWIN just announced an Indie Night format for the 2014 Skyline Music Festival that focuses on more modern bands.
Indie Night of the fest is set for Friday, August 8, at Target Field, making this year's Skyline Music Festival a two-day event similar to this past weekend's Rock the Garden. Andrew Bird and the New Pornographers will serve as co-headliners for night one of the festival.
The San Francisco-based alt-folk outfit Thao & the Get Down Stay Down will join in the festivities, along with the hushed elegance of Bon Iver's drummer, S. Carey. The lineup will be rounded out by local electronic experimentalist Dosh, who regularly plays in Andrew Bird's band.
Tickets for Indie Night at the Skyline Music Festival go on sale at 10 a.m. CT. Ticket prices range from $29-$49, with both the stage and seating limited to the third base side of Target Field. Gates for Indie Night of the Skyline Music Festival will open at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 8, with music starting at 5:30 p.m.
As we reported earlier, night two of the Skyline Music Festival will feature Melissa Etheridge, O.A.R., the Rembrandts, Gear Daddies, and the Honeydogs. Tickets for that night are already on sale.
