Seated Heat presents Lucy Michelle, Burglars, DJ Lisa Frank at Nick and Eddie tonight

Sho Nikaido has been arranging some interesting nights of cross-disciplinary mind-meltery during his band Seated Heat's Monday night residency at our Cities' den of forward-thinking musics, Nick and Eddie, and tonight seems a good time to initiate.

If you don't know who Mr. Nikaido is, maybe you'll remember him as the untethered psychotic at the helm of Sweet J.A.P. -- one of the best bands literally ever -- or as a random presence at Marijuana Deathsquads' shows, or as the guy who's always smiling at you or the person directly behind you.

This evening's lineup includes train-track-twee balladeers Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapelles, performance artist Aaron Ridgway, Burglars, the solo experiments of Dust Buns, and the tiger-in-space-on-my-grade-school-file-folder-evoking DJ Lisa Frank (drummer of Moonstone). And of course, Seated Heat.

As with any instance of experimental performance, things can gel or crack, move or fall, get there or not -- but the likelihood of those in the latter appears low. Oh, and good food. Win win win win.

Seated Heat play with Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapelles, Burglars, and DJ Lisa Frank tonight, Monday, April 4, at Nick and Eddie. 21+. $3. 9 p.m.
