Save the date: Obama benefit show, August 27
This just in from Fog's Andrew Broder, who is curating a show at the Turf Club in late August to raise money for Barack Obama: in addition to the previously-announced Dosh and Low, the lineup for the show will include Josh Grier and Jeremy Hansen of Tapes 'n Tapes, Kill the Vultures, STNNNG, Skoal Kodiak, and P.O.S. Wow. That's quite the batch of heavy-hitting local musicians, all crammed onto one bill.
The show is being called "Eight is Enough: The Concert to End Our Long, National Nightmare." In addition to giving the proceeds to the Obama campaign, Broder says the concert will serve "to loudly reject the disastrous Republican Agenda, and it's unwelcome infiltration of St. Paul." The show is taking place August 27, just a few days before the start of the RNC.
"Putting together a one-of-a-kind lineup at this St. Paul landmark seemed to be the most effective way we could generate excitement about the Obama campaign, motivate Minnesotans to get involved, and signify our dissatisfaction with eight years of Republican rule," writes Broder.
