The Twin Cities' Roots, Rock, and Deep Blues Festival recently took to Indiegogo to help raise funds for this year's festivities. And while their tempting, original rewards for contributing are eye-catching enough (with the fundraising campaign open until June 10), now the folks associated with our Best Rock Festival of the past year have revealed their 2014 lineup, and the contributions from fans are clearly helping to bring in some great local and national acts.
On Saturday, July 19, Sonny Knight & the Lakers, the Black Eyed Snakes, Kitten Forever, Black Diet, Molly Maher, and many others will be performing on the five music stages set up around Patrick's Cabaret and Harriet Brewing in the Longfellow community in South Minneapolis.
The Roots, Rock, and Deep Blues Festival serves as a fundraiser for Patrick's Cabaret, a 28-year-old nonprofit performance venue and community arts organization. Throughout the year, Patrick's provides a series of arts-based programs that nurture and educate aspiring artists, and this festival helps keep those enriching programs up and running.
Advance tickets are available at Harriet Brewing, Patrick's Cabaret, and online at www.rootsrockdeepblues.com. Also, if you contribute $20 to their Indiegogo campaign now, you will also get an advance ticket for the festival (which is tax deductible).
In addition to the music on offer from the 30+ bands spread throughout the festival's five stages, there will also be local DJs spinning tunes throughout the day, dance performances, visual and performance art, along with plenty of craft food and beverages available.
Here is the current lineup for the 2014 Twin Cities' Roots, Rock, and Deep Blues Festival:
