Rolling Stone readers: First Avenue is the 2nd best venue in America

The accolades for First Avenue keep rolling in courtesy of the many permutations of Rolling Stone's "Venues That Rock" series. The club already received the honor as the number three "big room" in the country, but now yet another high rank is bestowed. Yes, the pollsters have spoken, and only one club in the entire nation is better than First Ave. Drumroll?
It's none other than the Norva in Norfolk, Virginia. Of course. Sure, the place has a hot tub, but we might accuse the good people of Norfolk of some passionate balloting on behalf of the 13-year-old establishment.
Yes, the entry states Prince performed at the Norva. But did he film his movie there? Sheesh.
Anyhow, it's still nice to see that almost as many folks mobilized to get First Avenue a prominent number two on this list. Among the places it beat out: Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Bowery Ballroom in New York, and the 9:30 Club in D.C.
Any Gimme Noise readers who have been to the Norva? We'd love to hear a comparison.
