Robyn set to return to the Twin Cities in February

Just a week after playing the Fine Line (about which we were stoked and filmy) Robyn has announced another tour, coming to the Mainroom on February 13.

While she enjoys her new-found mega-success (instead of just the regular version), here's an intro to the singer.

Robyn, née Robyn Carlsson, has spent her whole life in front of a microphone, working professionally at age 12 and recording her debut album at 16. She's kept a consistent vice grip on Swedish pop for 15 years, beginning with her debut Robyn Is Here. Her profile internationally has precipitously increased (especially in the last year-and-a-half or so) since first charting in America in 1997 with "Do You Know (What It Takes)," after overcoming years of false starts due to problems with labels, international releases, missed tours...a litany of unforunate circumstances which stunted her popularity but not her growth as an artist and performer.

Now she "emerges" confident and fully formed. Robyn is behind the driver's seat now and it's paying dividends, including chart positions for her dual 2010 release(s), Body Talk pts. 1 & 2, and her first appearance at the MTV VMAs -- a rare and rather lucky late start for an artist who first emerged almost sixteen years ago.

Here is a sampling of her singles throughout the years, from newest to oldest, as a taster.

"Indestructible" (2010)

"Sexual Eruption" (2008)

"Konichiwa Bitches" (2007)

"Don't Stop the Music" (2003)

"Do You Know (What It Takes)" (1997)
