Retribution Gospel Choir to rock Minneapolis DFL's Blue BBQ
Minneapolis Democrats are proving that they want a "revolution" in a very literal sense. For the Southwest Minneapolis DFL's annual picnic, often called the Blue BBQ, Duluth's blistering rock trio the Retribution Gospel Choir, who released The Revolution EP earlier this year, will provide the musical entertainment.
One can only hope Michelle Bachmann has equally ambitious plans for a "red roast" of sorts in the 6th district.
The twitching, fierce singer-guitarist Alan Sparhawk (who is oft tied to his mellower Low project) will unleash on the noshing masses come June 10 at Painter Park, which is located at 34th Street and Lyndale Ave. S.
Also signed on to participate in an event co-sponsored by Senate Districts 61 and 62 to "build excitement for the 2012 elections and celebrate successes in the 2010 statewide elections" are Me and My Arrow, as well as Actual Wolf. And some elected officials will be there too -- but you knew that.
The event itself is free to the public, and there will be food for purchase courtesy of Play Ball Catering.
