Update: A Prince representative tells TMZ that the pop star's worsening flu symptoms were the reason for the emergency landing. The rep says Prince was treated and released after three hours and is currently resting back home in Minnesota. Prince, who apparently has been battling the flu for weeks, made up for two postponed concerts in Atlanta on Thursday, earning rave reviews.
Prince was rushed to a hospital after his private jet made an unscheduled landing around 1 a.m. Friday at the Quad City International Airport in Moline, Illinois, TMZ reports.
Sources supplied TMZ with conflicting reports on the status of the Minnesota-born music legend. One source tells TMZ that Prince is still hospitalized and "not doing well," while another source says he has been released and is doing OK. The nature of his potential injuries is unknown, as is ... well, everything, really.
Prince, 57, performed Thursday in Atlanta as part of his "Piano & A Microphone” tour.
