This week local favorite and guru of all things Gampo, Prof, released "Ghost," a new video from his forthcoming Rhymesayers debut Liability. The clip, a collaboration with indie-rap innovator Tech N9ne, was apparently shot last February in Tech’s hometown Kansas City. Over a beat produced by J.J. Jabber, Prof and Tech exchange braggadocio verses about their sheer superior machismo. The clip also features cameos from fellow Kansas City standouts Mac Lethal (complete with pancakes) Farout, and Steddy P.

The cameos are an example of how Prof keeps things in the family. Back in 2009, Mac Lethal collaborated with Prof for his mixtape track “Kinda Like a Big Wheel,” and was among the first to carry his Recession Music album with St. Paul Slim through Lethal's Black Clover Records site, as well as inviting both that year to play his annual Beerfest show in Kansas City. Prof and Steddy P also hit the road together back in 2011 as part of the Lookout Tour.

“Ghost” is our first glimpse since last year’s “Far Out” as to what Prof has cooking for his forthcoming Rhymesayers debut Liability, due out October 16. Along with “Ghost” comes the news that Liability is also set to feature Petey Pablo and Waka Flocka Flame, as well as production from Ant, Aesop Rock, Big Chocolate, Mux Mool, and Curtiss King. Fifth Element is going all out with a special $85.99 option for a premium pre-order that comes with a “Liability Kit” which includes a shirt, duffle bag, mask, flask, latex gloves, keychain flashlight, and matchbox.

“Ghost” also comes hot off the heels of the announcement of Prof Outdoors 2, which Prof has declared will be “the biggest show in the history of Prof,” coming to the Cabooze on September 5. Joining Prof, and possibly rivaling his energy on stage, will be former No Limit Soldier Mystikal, as well as Murs, Denzel Curry, Mac Irv, and Last Word.
