Polica make TV debut on Jimmy Fallon Wednesday, unveil U.S. tour
Although MInneapolis electro-percussive soul collective Polica aren't quite at the level of an Ellen DeGeneres shout-out yet, they're about to get a huge amount of exposure on Wednesday with a performance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. According to the band's publicist, this is their very first TV appearance. As is well-known by regular viewers, this means that house band the Roots will technically be the opening act for singer Channy Leanagh and the fellas.
The cast of 30 Rock and the Rev. Al Sharpton will also be on the program on Wednesday, so it could be an eclectic evening. Will they perform the tried-and-true "Lay Your Cards Out" or go for the sexy "Amongster"? Gimme Noise's suggestion would be the latter. Tune in at 11:35 CST to find out, and we'll post the video from the show once it becomes available.
Soon after, Polica will head out on a U.S. tour, and later in the summer, they'll play two of the group's biggest shows yet at the River's Edge Festival in St. Paul on June 23, and Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 5.
