Pixies coming to Roy Wilkins April 24

As the temperature plunges below zero, it can be hard to stay optimistic and remember why on earth we all decided it would be a good idea to live here. But here's something to warm the spirits: Minnesota is so far north that we're practically in Canada, right? So when the Pixies announce a 13-date tour across Canada, our first reaction is "Damn! I wish they were coming here." And our second reaction is "Damn! We're so close to Canada that we're a stop on the tour!"

God bless our tundra-whipped, frozen little asses. The Pixies are coming to Roy Wilkins on April 24.

The band's St. Paul stop is part of its "Doolittle Tour," which means fans can expect to hear all the tracks off their 1989 classic album, along with related B-sides like "Weird at My School," "Dancing the Manta Ray," and "Bailey's Walk."

Tickets are $40 and go on sale Saturday, January 29 at 11 a.m.
