Paul Simon coming to the Minneapolis Convention Center

Though Simon & Garfunkel were scheduled to come through Minnesota last year, the tour was eventually postponed and then canceled due to "a vocal strain" sustained by Art Garfunkel.

This spring, Paul Simon is venturing out on his own, and will come through Minneapolis on May 2 to play the Minneapolis Convention Center.

The venue choice seems like an odd one -- we would expect someone like Simon to perform at one of the two major Twin Cities arenas or at one of the larger theaters, but it's possible that the recent closing of Northrop Auditorium for renovations led Jam Productions to put him in the Convention Center instead.
