Patsy Cline Birthday Show tonight at Lee's

Just over six months ago, we gave you the rundown on Patsy Cline's strange death - and the deaths of manager Randy Hughes, Cowboy Copas, Hawkshaw Hawkins, Jack Anglin, and Dottie West to go along with it. That's just all too depressing. But the good news - today would have been Patsy's 79th birthday! So plan on celebrating tonight with a Birthday Show planned in her honor at Lee's Liquor Lounge, featuring country act Tree Party following Janie Miller's Patsy Cline tribute act (9:00, $6).

From the looks and sounds of her, Miller's got the dolled-up late 50s Patsy look and the no-frills Patsy voice down pat. Furthermore, her bio explains that her tribute has been "warmly received over and over again from the Elks, Eagles and Legion clubs throughout the northern USA and numerous clubs as well as fairs including the Minnesota State Fair and North Dakota State Fairs."

I've never read acclaim that resonated so much with my own personal tastes. Dang, girl.

So head on down to Lee's tonight by nine to catch Janie and company, and in the meantime, celebrate Patsy's oh-too-short-life right there at your desk. Go ahead and turn it up - your boss won't mind.

Happy birthday, and rest in peace, Hoss. A Church, a Courtroom, and Goodbye
