Papa John Phillips' publicist uses daughter's rape to sell albums

itemprop

You know, we're hard to surprise. Murder, abuse, theft, Enron, the Icecapades... if you're looking for excuses to loathe mankind, the selection is staggeringly broad.

But fucking your own daughter, and then using the ensuing scandal as a means to sell your records? Even we puked in our own mouths a little bit when we got this press release.

By now, you should have heard the news. Mackenzie Phillips, daughter of the Mamas & the Papas founder John Phillips, disclosed a decade long sexual relationship with her father.

The fallout? This is an honest to God press release that showed up in the Gimme Noise inbox this morning.

"She's Just 14" is one of a number of songs written by John Phillips

about his daughter MacKenzie Phillips. One of its lines is now the

title of MacKenzie's tell-all autobiography. The song appears on PUSSYCAT

the long-lost album that erstwhile Mamas & Papas primum mobile

John Phillips recorded as the first solo artist signed to Rolling

Stones Records in 1976. Produced by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, the

album reunited them in the studio for the first time with ex-Stones

member Mick Taylor and also features his replacement, Ron Wood. PUSSYCAT presents

for the first time the recently-located original '70s mix of the album,

together with newly-discovered outtakes and material from the 1976

sessions for Phillips's soundtrack to the film The Man Who Fell To Earth, (starring David Bowie).

Ordinarily, we'd overlook typographical boo boos. But this is daughter rape we're talking about here. And daughter rapists don't get cut slack. Not even a smidge. If any reader out there can tell us what that "primum mobile" insert means, we'll gladly treat them to a pitcher of Pabst.

This definitely goes down as one of the most unconscionable PR moves we've ever seen (and as the landfill of Taylor Swift CDs currently choking our wastebin can prove, we see a lot of desperate press releases). Wanna see just how revolting this all is? Read the lyrics to the above-mentioned song. Have a barf bag ready.

She's Just 14

She's just 14 - little movie star queen

There isn't much she hasn't seen

She "did it" in a limousine car

She datd pop stars

Hey Rainbow Hair, say that's no where

But she always says

I'm just a sexy trash can

But she's just a little girl, who thinks like a man

And sometimes her Daddy's spoiled her

Sometimes he treated her rough

Sometimes she's gentle

Sometimes she's tough

But she is always too nice to the driver

She says James have you had your supper

And she's always too high on arrival

And she runs on her high platform heels

And she falls flat on her face and she knows how life feels

She got the moves, yeah she got looks

She got the style, she's read all the books

And nobody got her on her hooks

She's on a real smooth trip, yes a real smooth trip

She's always too nice to the driver

She says James have you had your supper

And she's always too high on arrival

And she runs on her high platform heels

And she falls flat on her face and she knows how life feels

I see her sipping her Thunderbird wine

Wonderin' if she's the last word in space and time

And she knows she is, She's so pleased to discover

She's so hip. She's on a smooth trip.

Well she's always too nice to the driver

She says James have you had your supper

And she's always too high on arrival

And she runs on her high platform heels

And she falls flat on her face and she knows how life feels
