Occupy MN concerts announced: Grant Hart, Toki Wright, more to perform in solidarity
On Friday, October 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. , a lineup of mostly hip-hop artists will perform a free show in Peavey Plaza as a prelude to a "March to Save the American Dream," which will depart from Peavey Plaza at 3 p.m. and head toward the Wells Fargo Center ( similar to a march that took place yesterday ). The daytime concert, organized by TakeAction Minnesota and the Twin Cities Arts Action Collective, will feature performances by Rhymesayers artist and activist Toki Wright , Pandora's Box Cutter , Flo-me , Thee Evil Creatures , Karma the Oddest Goddess , Lioness , Rob Weekend , Sean Anonymous (of Wide Eyes) , and Earth Shake .
Both events are open to the public, and as Minnesotans for a Fair Economy organizer Kevin Whelan puts it, "The price for both concerts is just right for the 99%....free."
