The Zoo's Weesner Family Amphitheater in 2006.

The Zoo's Weesner Family Amphitheater in 2006.

It's gonna be another wild summer at the Minnesota Zoo, and we're not talking about the antics of the Cotton-top Tamarin (OK, maybe we are a little — look at that fella!).

No, the focus Monday is the just-announced 2016 Music in the Zoo concert lineup. The 24th annual outdoor live-music series at the zoo's Weesner Family Amphitheater will include punk/new wave legends Blondie (June 11), blues deity Buddy Guy (June 24), local alt-country standouts the Jayhawks (July 1), principled folk-rock stars Indigo Girls (July 25), and the new all-star collab featuring Neko Case, k.d. lang, and Laura Veirs (Aug. 10).

Home Free (June 12), Soul Asylum (June 18), Morris Day & the Time (June 30), and Har Mar Superstar (Aug. 20) are among the local talents set perform among the Visayan Warty Pigs and Hawaiian Monk Seals.

Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. April 23 via SueMclean.com and in-person at the Electric Fetus.
