The free weekly outdoor concert series just announced the 24 bands scheduled to perform this summer.
An extensive, collapsable lineup is available through the Music in Mears website. This year's highlights include local favorites like Desdamona, Communist Daughter, Reina del Cid, Little Fevers, Erik Koskinen, and Rogue Valley.
Dusty Heart and Alex Rossi will open things up June 9, and storied St. Paul indie-rock band the Honeydogs will shut things down August 25. The headliner for the August 11 show is TBA and will be announced on July 3.
Music in Mears goes down at 6 p.m. every Thursday from June 9 through August 25 at Mears Park in St. Paul.
“As we celebrate the Year of Music here in Saint Paul, I’m looking forward to another summer of Lowertown's mainstay music tradition — Music in Mears,” St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman said in a press release. “This event highlights the Saint Paul music scene and the vibrant Lowertown neighborhood, making it a destination for people in the Twin Cities and across the region."
Like any good outdoor music festival, Music in Mears will feature craft beers from Tin Whiskers and Summit each week. Food trucks like Hot Indian and Hometown Creamery will be on hand making sure you can get your grub on during the dinnertime gathering.
