Minneapalooza lines up a full day of local rock outside the Loring Theater
The Loring Theater near the south end of downtown Minneapolis is jumping on the outdoor fest bandwagon with its first Minneapalooza, an outdoor festival that will showcase some of the Twin Cities' finest rock 'n' roll bands. Headlined by a couple of our Best of the Twin Cities winners from this year -- Phantom Tails, who won Best New Band, will play the outdoor stage, while Hastings 3000, who took the title of Best Rock Band, closes the night indoors -- the lineup also includes mood-rock duo Fort Wilson Riot, one-man-party-band BadNraD, and Joe Hastings' blues-rock trio the Sex Rays.
