Mill City Live will showcase 'Minnesota Legends' for 2011 season
The Mill City Live series, which presents bands in the stunning setting of the Mill City Ruins, is getting ready to kick off its first event of 2011 next Thursday, July 7. This season, Mill City invited guest curator Jim Walsh to help them book a lineup of "Minnesota Legends" that span five decades of local music history.
"'Twas that great Minnesota old dog Bob Dylan who said, 'The only thing you find in museums are dead people,' which will be dispelled nicely this summer at The Mill City Museum," Walsh writes in an essay about the series.
Here's the lineup for 2011, which kicks off with Chris Osgood of the Suicide Commandos:
July 7 Chris Osgood & the Mill City Rockers
July 14 Flamin' Oh's
July 21 "Spider" John Koerner & Tony Glover
July 28 Molly Maher & Her Disbelievers
August 4 The Hypstrz / Mighty Mofos
August 11 Adam Levy & Friends
August 18 Curtiss A & The Jerks of Fate
All shows are $5, all ages, and run from 6-8 p.m. The cover charge also includes admission into the Mill City Museum from 4-9 p.m. on the night of the show.
