If you thought Miley Cyrus's only contributions to the world were "Party in the USA" and co-opting twerking, she's showing some grown-up ambition in a new nonprofit endeavor called the Happy Hippie Foundation.

Working with artists such as Joan Jett, Laura Jane Grace (Against Me!), Melanie Safka, and Ariana Grande, the organization is a musical collaboration-based fundraiser to benefit homeless youth, LGBT youth, and other vulnerable members of society. To raise awareness and support for her cause, she even covers the Twin Cities' own Replacements with Joan Jett and Against Me!'s Laura Jane Grace.

The concept is that Cyrus will collaborate with other musicians, filming videos in her backyard and posting them on the Happy Hippie Foundation website and Facebook, utilizing a virtual donation box to raise funds.

"Pointless judgment and its effects are unfortunately something that is way too common," Cyrus says via press release. "No one should have to hide who they really are, no matter what his or her name, gender, or status."

Donations are used to fund a range of programs focused on prevention and support services, as well as public education, with a broader goal aimed at increasing youth's participation in such matters. The Happy Hippie Foundation notes that 40 percent of the 1.6 million homeless youth in the country identify as LGBT.

Visit the organization's website to catch the first collaboration, a song titled "Different" performed by Cyrus and ex-Runaways rocker Joan Jett. Jett also joins Cyrus and Against Me!'s Laura Jane Grace on a terrific cover of the Replacements' "Androgynous" below. Against Me! are set to come through town on July 4 for the D4th of July event at the Triple Rock.
