Mayor R.T. Rybak proclaims Friday Har Mar Superstar Day
In conjunction with Har Mar Superstar's headlining show at First Avenue this Friday, Mayor R.T. Rybak has announced that September 20, 2013 will hereby be known as Har Mar Superstar Day.
This isn't the first time a musician has gotten a special nod from the mayor. Last year, Rybak honored Doomtree with their own day in December.
Andy Holmaas, director of community outreach in the mayor's office, recalls when Rybak heard that "Lady You Shot Me" was the work of a locally raised musician. "We know he doesn't currently live here, but that won't stop us from claiming him," Holmaas writes in an email.
Since then, Rybak has been a fan of the now-Brooklyn-based artist and interacts with him on Twitter.
Har Mar announced the news this morning on Twitter.
