Markéta Irglová, Swell Season documentary both coming to the Cedar

As we wrote about last month, Once film star and Swell Season counterpart Markéta Irglová has been busy readying her solo debut, Anar, which comes out October 11.

Things have been changing rapidly for the 23-year-old singer, who started out collaborating with her film co-star, the Frames' Glen Hansard, and winning an Oscar when she was just 19. Anar will give Irglová a chance to move toward center stage this fall as she embarks on her first headlining tour, and the U.S. leg will bring her to the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis on November 25.

[jump] It's not the only event at the Cedar this season geared toward Swell Season fans; the West Bank all-ages venue will also be screening a new Swell Season documentary on September 25. The Cedar sent over a trailer of the documentary, which follows Hansard and Irglová as their personal relationship dissolves, to give us a sneak peek at what's in store.

The Swell Season documentary screens Sunday, September 25, at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. $10.

Markéta Irglová performs on Friday, November 25, at 7 p.m. $18/$20 at the door. Tickets go on sale tomorrow via the Cedar's site.
