Lucy Michelle pens song for Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak
The ukulele pop-folk hybrid of Lucy Michelle frequently deals in the complex issues of love. Earlier this year, stripped of her Velvet Lapelles, she expressed these feelings on her first solo album, Attack of the Heart. Now, in a love letter of civic pride, Michelle is singing the praises of Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak, who sadly won't seek a fourth term in the position.
Titled "Mayor RT and Minneapolis," the ditty was added to Michelle's Soundcloud this morning, and she sings that "Making a city real cool ain't no job for a fool." Hear it and check out the lyrics below.
Lucy Michelle goes solo
The transportation and opening the doors to immigration, Minneapolis
Enjoying the beer, and looking out for deer
And nature's many things in Minneapolis
Love is the law in your book
Love is the law and we know where to look
Influencing people that influence you
Like musicians, bikers, and the elderly too
Making a city real cool ain't no job for a fool
You've got it going on, Mayor Rybak
This is the second summer love song Michelle has put out. Check out "Neil Loves Candy" as well.
