While the music world fawned over Eaux Claires all summer, the garage-rockers composing Twin Cities collective/record label Luck Machine quietly schemed another infant Midwestern festival. Luck Machine organizers just announced the final lineup for the second installment of this garage-rock bash, a riff-heavy retreat to rural Minnesota happening August 29 in Montgomery, about an hour south of the Twin Cities.
With two stages and 20 bands, Luck Machine Fest 2 will feature Luck Machine garage haunters Danger Ron & the Spins, Chalk, and Ghostmouth. You can also expect sets from math-proggers Straya, deep-space doom quartet Phantom Tails, kinetic rockers Mrs., indie beach-bums Moving Parts, plus performances from local psych-pop favorites Rupert Angeleyes and Suzie. The DIY fest is probably the most local music you can get in one day for $10.
With food provided by Potter’s Pasties, a free Luck Machine comp tape, and free on-site camping, Luck Machine Fest 2 is working hard to make the trip down to Montgomery worth it. Here’s the full lineup:
