Love in October offer up free download of new EP
It's been a couple of years since we've heard from Love in October, the Swedish-born, Minneapolis-bred pop band that picked up and moved to Chicago at the end of 2008. Today, we got word that they just wrapped up a new five-song EP, Love in October II, which is due out on February 8 -- and as a "post-holiday gift" to their fans, their offering up a free download of the EP from now until its release date.
A stark contrast to their slick debut full-length, the Love in October II EP was recorded in a large live room at Chemical Sound Studio in Toronto, ON. "We wanted to do it old school like our favorite records from the '70s and rely on good musicianship," says singer and guitarist Erik Widman, who leads the band with his brother Kent.
The EP also features vocalist Tiffany Almy, whose ethereal harmonies add another layer to the brooding nature of the new disc.
