Lookbook, Solid Gold playing benefit tonight
Solid Gold, Lookbook, Speed's the Name, and the Desert Vest are rallying to play a benefit show at Nick and Eddie tonight for Kyle Sturges, a friend of the musicians on the bill who is in a coma following a dirt bike accident. Tickets are $25 and go directly to the family to relieve the financial strain of Kyle's medical expenses.
For those who have yet to catch a show at Nick and Eddie, here's a chance to catch some of the Cities' most prominent electro-pop acts in an intimate setting -- and for a worthy cause, to boot.
More info, from this week's Critics' Picks section:
This last-minute show is being organized as a fundraiser for the family of Kyle Sturges, a young man from southern Minnesota who was in a dirt bike accident that has left him in a coma for the past few weeks. The Sturges have strong ties to the local music community, and their friends are quickly assembling to help raise money for Kyle's medical expenses. The benefit concert at Nick and Eddie will feature performances by electro-pop heavyweights Solid Gold (pictured) and Lookbook, as well as opening sets by indie rockers Speed's the Name and the Desert Vest--all told, a lineup that packs quite the punch for the price tag. There will also be a silent auction with art work from local artists, a private chef's dinner, rock memorabilia, gift cards, and more, and all of the proceeds go directly toward alleviating the financial pressure on the Sturges family.
