Live Letters moves to Soo Visual Arts Center, Actual Wolf hosting first event

The music showcases arranged by Live Letters over the past year or so have given a new spin on the Twin Cities concert and house show scene. During that time, vigorous fans Sara Montour and Steve Korf brought their passion project to life and have staged intimate loft shows often featuring "an evening with friends" format. Performers included the 4onthefloor's Gabe Douglas, Chris Koza, John Mark Nelson, Zoo Animal, and lots more.
When interviewed at the time of their one-year anniversary, Montour said, "We're also looking at collaborating with some places around town that are not traditional venues that could be perfect for music." And that collaboration has taken shape at Soo Visual Arts Center in Uptown. For the first event, Actual Wolf frontman and Retribution Gospel Choir drummer Eric Pollard is hosting the festivities.
Live Letters celebrates one-year anniversary tonight
"When we started our shows we knew that they weren't about a particular location, but instead about an idea and a vision of what our 'perfect concert' would look and feel like," says the Live Letters team. "As soon as we started talking to SooVAC we knew that it was a perfect match and that our shows would be at home in their spaces."
Pollard's night at the venue is coming Thursday, September 19. The full lineup is as follows:
Dave Simonett (Trampled by Turtles, Dead Man Winter)
Claire de Lune (The Chalice)
As Live Letters points out, there is always the potential for some special guests, so this lineup could grow.
Live Letters: An Evening with Friends hosted by Actual Wolf. $10, 7 p.m., Thursday, September 19 at Soo Visual Arts Center. Info here.
