The 20th anniversary blowout of Minnesota's biggest hip-hop label will look and sound exactly like you'd imagine. Rhymesayers 20 is set to hit Target Center on December 4, bringing with it the big-name locals that made the indie label an international success: Atmosphere, Brother Ali, P.O.S, et. al.
There are some quirks and goodies hidden in the lineup, including three versions of New York indie-rap star Aesop Rock — solo, with Kimya Dawson as the Uncluded, and with Hail Mary Mallon. Slug of Atmosphere will join Murs to form their buddy-rap team Felt; recent signee Prof should provide some novel, hard-partying raunchiness; on-again, off-again scene pioneers Micranots will also perform.
Tickets — $20 general admission; $100 VIP — go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, October 16. Rhymesayers subscribers are invited to a fan pre-sale 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 14. The all-ages concert runs until midnight.
