Not only is Korda Records one of the best record labels in the state of Minnesota, but they also know how to throw one hell of a party. The first Korda Records Showcase in the Entry was such a good time that they have decided to do it all over again, this time at the Cedar Cultural Center on November 30.
In addition to celebrating the release of the Korda 2 Komp, with new and unreleased tracks from the Korda Records roster by the Ocean Blue, the Starfolk, Jim Ruiz Set, Typsy Panthre, the Owls, and the Hang Ups, the showcase will also feature the first live performance from the Owls in two years.
The Ocean Blue will also be making a celebrated live return to a Minneapolis stage at the Korda Showcase, as part of their brief, six-city fall tour in support of their glorious recent release, Ultramarine.
The Starfolk, the Jim Ruiz Set, and DJ Jake Rudh round out the bill on a night to celebrate Minnesota music.
Along with planning their second showcase, the Korda Records folks have also just re-released the self-titled 2003 debut album by the Hang Ups, which you can now purchase digitally for the very first time or on CD directly through the label. Korda also has limited-edition copies of Jim Ruiz Set's recent release, Mount Curve Avenue, available on baby blue vinyl.
So let the soothing, blissful sounds of the Korda Records roster help ease you into the colder months with the second Korda Records Showcase at the Cedar on November 30. It's bound to be a special night.
