Kiss, Motley Crue lead Minnesota State Fair 2012 offerings
The 2012 running of the great Minnesota get-together is starting to pile up a load of concert offerings for this August. Tops among the Grandstand Concert Series shows is the
Minneapolis St. Paul stop on the Kiss-Mötley Crüe joint tour, which will be the first series of dates these two monsters of rock have shared since, oh, 1982. Kiss, the band that hosted one of the most miraculous cruises ever to hit the high seas, performed at the Minnesota State Fair in 2010.
Updated: Wiz Khalifa and Journey shows have been added to the list. The salient details are included below.

7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 23; tickets cost $34-$44. Buy tickets.
8 p.m. Sunday, August 26; tickets cost $38, and go on sale May 19.
The Happy Together Tour: The Turtles with Flo & Eddie, Micky Dolenz, Gary Puckett & the Union Gap, the Grass Roots, the Buckinghams
8 p.m., Monday, August 27; tickets cost $18. Buy tickets.
Kiss & Mötley Crüe
7 p.m., Wednesday, August 29; tickets cost $51-$81. Please call 1-800-514-3849 for obstructed view seating.
Journey with Pat Benatar and Loverboy
7 p.m., Saturday, September 1; tickets cost $38-$58 and go on sale May 19.
Wiz Khalifa with Mac Miller
6:30 p.m., Monday, September 3; tickets cost $29-$39, and go on sale May 19.
Mode of Transport: Carpool, but don't shoot for capacity in your Dodge Durango for these unless you want to find out what someone vomiting up the contents of their stop at the All-You-Can-Drink milk booth.
Wardrobe for the Kiss concert: This is one of the few bands that fellow fans will look down on you for NOT wearing a band's T-shirt to the show.
One reason to show up early: If Tommy Lee is still doing his drum roller-coaster thing, this will be a show you'll remember forever. See below:
