Justin Vernon sings the blues in the Shouting Matches
Ever since going on hiatus from touring his Bon Iver project, Justin Vernon has gotten himself wrapped up in all kinds of crazy projects. Between recording albums in his house and singing on and mixing the Gayngs record, Vernon found time to reignite a side project with Peter Wolf Crier drummer Brian Moen called the Shouting Matches. The duo's first gig together was back in December of 2008, and after a lengthy pause they got together again last weekend to play a show in Altoona, Wisconsin. Judging from the video footage captured at last weekend's show, we think Vernon's dirty blues-rock sounds pretty damn good -- here's hoping they don't wait another year and a half to play their next gig.
