Justin Vernon covers Bonnie Raitt, gets interviewed by Jimmy Fallon

It's not often that Jimmy Fallon invites his musical guest to sit down for an interview prior to their performance on his late-night show, but the fact that he brought on Bon Iver's Justin Vernon to do just that is even more proof of how massive the release of his sophomore album, Bon Iver, Bon Iver, is turning out to be.

After gushing to Vernon about how much he loves his debut, For Emma, Forever Ago, and clearing up some hilariously exaggerated rumors about the making of the album and the name Bon Iver, Fallon asks Vernon how he found his voice and holds up issues of Billboard and Spin, both of which feature Vernon's face on the cover next month.

Following the interview, Justin Vernon and his "best friend" Phil Cook from Megafaun (and formerly Vernon's bandmate in DeYarmond Edison) performed a medley of Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me," "Nick of Time," and the Donny Hathaway version of Leon Russell's "A Song For You." Watch here:
