Justin Bieber's snake finds home at Owatonna Zoo (PHOTOS)
Even if Justin Bieber isn't readily accessible in Minnesota, and old reptile buddy of his is just an hour's drive away from the Twin Cities. We're talking about Johnson, an albino boa constrictor who is the first celebrity snake to reside at the impeccably named RAD (Reptile & Amphibian Discovery) Zoo in Owatonna.
Johnson, who accompanied Bieber to the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, was recently snagged in an auction by Startifacts.com's Michael Kronick, a local memorabilia buyer. According to Jamie Pastika, RAD Zoo's director and owner, he donated the snake to ensure the animal went to a good home.
"This is the first famous snake at the Zoo," Pastika confirms, and adds that the animal has adjusted well to its new surroundings. "He's eating mice already." Well, that's a good sign. Also, Johnson will eventually be available for special in-home visits -- if you've always wanted to say something belonging to the Biebs has been in your living room.
To visit Johnson and the rest of the less famous creatures at the Rad Zoo:
Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday, 12 pm. to 5 p.m.
