Two Minneapolis art galleries will host two different locally rooted panel discussions about music, art, and community involvement this week.
Tonight at Intermedia Arts, MNOriginal and the Minneapolis Arts Commission will host an interactive discussion on "Minnesota Identity and the Arts" from 7-9 p.m. Moderator Andy Sturdevant (who curates Salon Saloon) will lead the discussion with photographer Wing Young Huie, dancer Ananya Chatterjea, MN Original's Chuck Olsen, and Adam Levy of the Honeydogs.
[jump] Tomorrow night, Tarnish & Gold, the gallery space in Northeast Minneapolis currently showcasing the paintings of Cloud Cult's Scott West, will host a discussion on "The Relationship Between Art and Music" led by writer Carl Atiya Swanson and featuring panelists West, musician Mark Mallman, artist John Megas, writer and director John Burgess, painter and professor James Burpee, and artist and musician Neal Perbix. The discussion will take place from 6-8 p.m.
Both events are free and open to the public.
