Insane Clown Posse believe in 'Miracles'

Violent J and 2 Dope
Violent J and 2 Dope

Insane Clown Posse began their career as the Inner City Posse, meeting in their manager's mom's basement while cobbling together the chrysalis of their label Psychopathic and the image that would lead them towards a success totally definable as "motherfucking American." Twenty years on they have an empire or at least a nexus, taking in over $10 million a year and codifying a culture directed at partyloving Lost Boys and Girls everywhere (they're called juggalos, in case Rip Van Winkle is reading this). Juggalos eat up the Posse's violent and misogynistic barely-art for the same reason anyone does anything: they relate to it. Somehow. So what, then, when they begin scary-rapping about butterflies and rainbows and magic? Is their audience high enough? Are you?

Audience reaction is mixed on, many people saying the video is fucking dope and how it could only be improved with acid or marijuana, while some detractors point out that it's "gay as fuck" and that the song is "fucking horrible." I think both sides offer up valid points. What's your opinion?

Selected lyrics:

We don't have to be high to look in the sky
And know that's a miracle opened wide
Look at the mountains, trees, the seven seas
And everything chilling underwater, please
Hot lava, snow, rain and fog
Long neck giraffes, and pet cats and dogs

I fed a fish to a pelican at Frisco bay
It tried to eat my cell phone, he ran away
And music is magic, pure and clean

I seen a caterpillar turn into a butterfly
Miracles ain't nothing to lie

Magic everywhere in this bitch
(Do you notice and recognize miracles)
It's all around you, you don't even know it
(Are you a believer in miracles)
Shit's crazy
(Do you notice and recognize miracles / So many miracles, the magic miracles)
