Craig and Patrick, sittin' in a tree ... R.O.C.K.I.N.G.?

Noted indie-rock besties Craig Finn, solo artist and leader of the Hold Steady, and Patrick Stickles, frontman of New Jersey's Titus Andronicus, made good on their budding bromance Tuesday by announcing a joint Finn/Titus spring tour. Noted mega-fan of both artists, me, was reported to be "pumped." The palsy-walsyness between both artists manifested this year in the form of cover-song collabs and podcast seshes.

The tour will arrive in Minneapolis on March 12 at the erstwhile Brick (aka Mill City Nights). Tickets go on sale Friday. Finn, the most rock 'n' roll Edina native to ever live, broke the news via a Facebook post

"Hang on to your concert T-shirts, I've got an amazing tour to tell you about for March 2016. Beginning March 1, I'll be hitting the road with my friends Titus Andronicus for a very special set of dates. We've got lots of cool ideas which we'll start telling everyone about in the coming weeks."

Finn and Titus will both be promoting fresh releases from 2015. For Finn, it's Faith in the Future, his much-improved sophomore solo album. "I've written a fair amount of songs about being drunk in Minneapolis," he told City Pages in October, going on to describe the lyrical evolution heard on Faith. For Stickles & Co., it's The Most Lamentable Tragedy, their hyper-ambitious, 29-song punk-rock opera. It took me a few dozen listens, but I can safely attest to the latter LP kicking all sorts of ass.
